The Tote:
This hand-dyed and hand-printed linen tote bag was custom designed in my studio located just outside Chicago. It's cut from 100% natural linen for a soft, long-wearing, modern look for summer beach trips, market day, a local festival, or casual weekend shopping.
I love a bag that's easy - easy to throw everything into, easy to wash, easy to pack. And that's why I created my casual and sophisticated reversible tote. Easy to use every day, easy to keep looking beautiful for years to come.
This tote has a roomy 15 x 10 inch interior, 11 inch dual straps, and an interior pocket for your phone or notebook. I've printed JUST LOVE on the front, and my split heart design on the back. The Process:
I create each design in my studio outside Chicago. Every item is washed and dryed throughout the hand dying and printing process, which gives a unique, well-worn look. And of course, everything I make can be thrown in the washing machine as many times as needed over the years to keep them fresh and bright.
All the items you see in my line begin as 100% undyed fabric. I then hand cut my fabric and hand dye to a custom color using only high-quality professional fiber reactive natural dyes.
I run a 2 station, 6 color press to hand print my designs onto the fabric. To get a fully customized look, I use a specialized Pantone ink matching system to create print colors in any Pantone color I need. All my items are printed using eco-friendly inks that are water-based and phthalate free.
Once the custom design is printed onto the fabric, I stitch the items onsite. My customers expect to keep their items for decades, so I ensure these seams are stitched up tight, especially in the corners and typical wear spots.
